FUNNY ART: Hyperrealism in the service of smile.
Jean-François Rousselot, the “FUNNY ART” artist, born in Toulouse in 1971, forged his talent as a self-taught artist, passionate about drawing since forever.
After incorporating living elements and offbeat humour into his early pencil still lifes from 1997 onwards, he explored colour (pastel, watercolour, acrylic) before finding his full means of expression with oil, a medium that offers him fluidity and colour intensity.
A break in his career took him away from art for a while, but the pull was too strong. Today, he creates hyperrealistic, colourful, and humorous artworks, which he calls FUNNY ART. In them, he intertwines human, plant, and animal forms, transforming everyday life into convivial and surreal scenes, inviting joy and reflection.
An artist listed in AKOUN and DROUOT, present in several galleries, he is now focused on the international market to distribute his offbeat art.

Work in progress
“I’m creating a series of small, hyperrealistic pieces (3F format, 27/22cm) in the spirit of Funny Art.
In them, I depict animals interacting with objects or other elements, all on a plain background. In each painting, I try to use visual wordplay or play on common phrases.”
